Meet Melissa
Owner, Operator.
Melissa graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University in Palm Beach, FL with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2002. After starting her family, she began working as a virtual bookkeeper, where she found her niche after a client hired her to help with her Simple Practice account. That’s when she became passionate about the idea of helping more small businesses succeed. Over the past 5 years she has worked with numerous mental health professionals as a virtual assistant and consultant which has allowed her to turn her heart for helping others and her sharp business skills into the practical and purpose driven life she has always desired. She now has the pleasure of working with dozens of aspiring business owners and entrepreneurs from all over the United States helping their businesses to thrive.
Meet JR
Co-Owner- Webmaster, IT, and Virtual Assistant.
JR (Melissa’s husband) has spent 23 years supporting Melissa with all of her aspirations and is thrilled to have become a full time virtual assistant working beside his amazing wife. JR has many years of experience in basic IT, and possesses great problem solving skills, helping to round out the team at Melissa Assists.
Meet Nicole
Virtual Assistant
Nicole was introduced to medical billing at a young age where she processed claims for her father's busy podiatry practice through high school. While attending the University of Florida, Nicole was the Billing Manager for Guidice Podiatry in Gainesville, Florida. After graduation, she took on the role of Office Manager for Spruce Creek Podiatry in Summerfield, Florida. After moving to the east coast of Florida, Nicole worked for a private practice Internal Medicine doctor, Dr. Felix Sosa. Although a Registered Nurse by profession, Nicole is currently a stay-at-home mother of four with the ability and desire to work remotely in the field of insurance and billing. Nicole’s extensive experience and wealth of knowledge has made her an integral part of the team at Melissa Assists LLC.
Meet Heather
Virtual Assistant
Heather attended Palm Beach State College where she received her AA in Health Sciences. She has over 20 years experience in the dental/medical field in all aspects of administration. Her extensive experience in customer service, insurance verification, claim submission, payment collection and posting makes her an integral part of Melissa Assists.
Meet Alaina
Virtual Assistant
Alaina attended Virginia College where she received her Associates in Science. She has 11 years in the Dental/Medical field. Including administration, insurance verification, claims , billing and coding and collections. She also has 3 years experience as a treatment plan coordinator and assisting with credit lines and loans for patients. Additional skills working as a social media specialist in a busy practice.
